Captain David Kiddle
Captain David Kiddle has served as commander of the Support Services Division since 2008.
Captain David Kiddle has served as commander of the Support Services Division since 2008. Captain Kiddle has been a member of the Grand Rapids Police Department since 1992. As an officer, he served in several roles, including Patrol, the Detective Unit, the Staff Services Bureau, and the Training Unit. In addition, he served as a Field Training Officer. Captain Kiddle was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1999, where he served as a patrol supervisor and as the Coordinator of Special Events. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2004, where he served in the roles of Watch Commander, Administrative Lieutenant assigned to the East Service Area, and Commander of the Internal Affairs Unit. Captain Kiddle was promoted to the rank of Acting Captain in September 2007, and promoted to Captain in April of 2008. Captain Kiddle has received numerous letters of commendation and three Meritorious Unit Citations. He is a graduate of the 241st Session of the FBI National Academy, the Law Enforcement Executive Leadership Institute, Leadership Grand Rapids, has coordinated the Police Department's Leadership Institute, and is an instructor of Ethics and First Aid/CPR. In addition to his professional experience, Captain Kiddle holds a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and a master of science degree in criminal justice, both from Michigan State University.
