Captain Vincent Reilly
Reilly began his career at the GRPD in 1994. He served as a second shift patrol officer until 1995 when he joined the Neighborhood Patrol Unit (currently the Special Response Team). He was promoted to sergeant in 1998 where he served on all three patrol shifts. In 2005 he was promoted to lieutenant where he served as Watch Commander and Administrative Lieutenant of the South and East Service Areas. Captain Reilly served as Commander of the Internal Affairs Unit from 2010 until his promotion to Captain in 2015.
Captain Reilly holds two degrees from Michigan State University; a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master's degree in Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement. He has also served as an instructor in ethics, defensive tactics, and as a field training officer for new recruits. He has received numerous letters of commendation and recognition as well as a Unit Performance Award and a Meritorious Unit Citation. He is a fourth generation Grand Rapidian who attended Catholic Central High School.
