Mayor's Youth Council '08
Our Community's Children is looking for 15 enthusiastic students to serve on the 2008 - 2009 Mayor's Youth Council. Students must be entering the 9th - 12th grades and be a Grand Rapids resident. Applications are due Monday, September 22, 2008. The Mayor's Youth Council is organized to actively give young people a voice in city affairs. Council members have direct access to the Mayor and City Commissioners by meeting monthly to discuss city policy and issues that are of importance to teens. They also participate in hands-on activities, facilitate youth forums and perform community service projects.
