    City of Grand Rapids Water System Staff are flushing over 7,000 fire hydrants throughout the City. Flushing of these hydrants may stir up residual sediment. This water is safe to drink but may be temporarily discolored. If you experience discolored water due to fire hydrant flushing, run the water at your outside faucet or laundry sink. Run the water for 5 to 10 minutes to clear the discolored water in your water service lines. If you still have issues or questions, please contact Water Customer Service: 456-3200 or watercs@grcity.us.
