Do you currently park in the North Monroe Lot?
We have options for you!
In December 2015, the Grand Rapids City Commission approved GR Forward, an amendment to the City’s Master Plan. Included as part of this amendment was the River Restoration Project, a venture aimed at restoring the Grand River to its former glory and re-establishing the emotional and physical connections between Downtown and the River. To complete this project, 28 priority riverfront sites throughout the city of Grand Rapids were identified as areas necessary to make this River Restoration Project a success. Included in the list of priority riverfront sites was the North Monroe surface parking lot.
The City's Mobile GR & Parking Department wants to start to prepare impacted customers for the eventual closure of the North Monroe Lot.
The current lot must transition its usage from surface parking to green space within a few months of the final transaction completion and although the exact date of this is not yet known, we are preparing for the lot closure as of June 1, 2017.
There are currently 120 parking spaces in the North Monroe surface parking lot. We understand that the closure of this lot is an inconvenience to our customers and that finding new parking arrangements can be stressful, so we want to help you secure a new parking arrangement which is best suited to your individual needs.
The Mobile GR & Parking Services office strives to ensure that you, our customers are provided with as many options as possible during this transition. If you would like to set-up a meeting to discuss a transition plan for you or your business account, please contact Jennifer Kasper (email@example.com).
The Mobile GR & Parking Department would like to provide more regular updates to North Monroe parkers as the project moves forward. To allow us to keep you updated, please take a few moments and sign up for our email list serve.
