    What are my options other than driving to Grand Rapids?

     
    Grand Rapids has 72.5 miles of on street bike lanes. There are a number of bus options, including the Silver Line and other bus routes.

    Where can ​buses park?

     

    All Buses, Coaches are encouraged to park at the Scribner Lot between Pearl and Bridge, or on Mt. Vernon St. between Douglas and Lake Michigan Drive.


    Where should I park for events at Van Andel Arena?

    There are many parking options if you are going to the Van Andel Arena for an event, but the best options depend on what day and time your event takes place.


    For evening and weekend events:


    Surface parking lots south of Fulton by the Van Andel Arena are a popular choice. The most used lots include:


    Arena Area 2 Lot
    Arena Area 3 Lot
    Arena Area 4 Lot
    Arena Area 5 Lot

    Parking ramps are also a popular option as well. The most popular locations for these facilities include:


    Cherry Commerce
    Weston Commerce
    The Gallery on Commerce (between Weston & Fulton)
    Ottawa Fulton
    Monroe Center (on Ionia between Louis & Monroe Center)
    Louis Campau (on Monroe Center, North of Campau)
    Pearl Ionia

    For daytime events during weekdays (Monday-Friday):
     
    Monthly parking customers populate many of the surface lots during the daytime, meaning the parking availability is limited. However, the parking ramp facilities mentioned above for evening and weekend events have some capacity. 
     
    If you need assistance, Parking Services does staff traffic personnel during these events who will be happy to direct you to the closest available parking area.

    My DASH bus should be here, but it’s not. Where is it?


    If you would like to track the location of the DASH buses on your route, you can go to the RapidConnect​ app, and select the route you are looking for, and see the bus in real-team.

    I can see that there are open parking spaces in this parking facility, why am I not able to park here without a parking card?


    Parking Services has an obligation to provide parking spaces to our monthly parking customers. These customers are downtown employees, college students, and residents whose monthly fees are associated with their access. 


    Parking spaces will be held out of daily, hourly, or event parking to accommodate these customers. If an access only parking card sign is out, check with traffic personnel for the next available parking location.

     

    When are parking meters enforced?



    The City of Grand Rapids Mobilegr and Parkins Services Department will observe the following holidays:

    When are Parking Services personnel available?


    Our offices are open Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

    What services does the Security team provide?


    These services include: 

    -Free Tire Change
    -Free air for Low Tires
    -Free Jumpstarts
    -Free Assistance for Vehicle Lockouts
    -Free Escorts to Vehicles in the Ramps/Lots
    -Troubleshooting Parking Machine Issues in Real Time
    -Refuel for Vehicles*

    *Refueling is at the at the expense of the customer, and will be charged at market price, and a max. of 5 gallons*


    How do I sign up for a City ramp or lot Monthly Parking Pass?


    To start the process of obtaining a monthly parking pass, you’ll need to complete a Parking Facilities Agreement (PDF). 


    If you’d like to set up automatic payments for your monthly parking pass, you’ll also need to complete a Credit Card Authorization (PDF) form as well. Once you’ve completed the appropriate form(s), you’ll need to bring them to our office.


    Our office is located at 50 Ottawa Avenue NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 on the ground level of the Ottawa Fulton parking ramp. 


    The doors to our office are on the corner of Ottawa Avenue NW and Louis Street NW and are open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.​


    Where are can I find loading zones in Grand Rapids?


    There are many loading zone locations scattered throughout the city of Grand Rapids.​ A map showing the location of all the different loading zones can be found by clicking here.

    Additionaly, if you need to unload, you have a grace period of 20 minutes.
