About the Truck Route Ordinance
The City Commission of Grand Rapids has established a Truck Route Ordinance that includes the following requirements:
- Commercial vehicles weighing 10,000 lbs. (pounds) or more must follow specific routes when traveling through the City.
- These trucks must utilize the designated truck route closest to the point of delivery, pick-up or service.
- The shortest route available via major streets must be traveled when leaving from or returning to a truck route.
