This project resurfaced Alpine from Richmond to Ann, upgraded sidewalks and ramps to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and installed green infrastructure in the pedestrian island at Alpine and Ann to retain and soak stormwater into the ground to filter pollutants and reduce runoff entering natural bodies of water.
Following the resurfacing, the pavement markings were returned to the road diet configuration which includes a vehicle lane and a bike lane in each direction with a center turn lane. The City will continue to monitor to effects of the road diet and make small adjustments as needed. A final decision regarding the road diet will be made in the future and communicated to citizens. More information can be found on the Alpine Road Diet page.
