Work is nearing completion. The contractor has finished the bridge deck and supports and is now working on the walls and railing. Alger is tentatively scheduled to reopen in mid-December.

This project has been delayed due to additional coordination with the railroad. Work is now scheduled to begin August 15 and last approximately three months.
This project is scheduled to begin July 5 and be completed in early October, pending weather and contractor availability. During this time, Alger will be closed at the bridge and through traffic between Kalamazoo and Plymouth will be prohibited. The detour route
will utilize Kalamazoo, Burton, and Plymouth and will be clearly marked.
This project will replace the Alger bridge deck over the CSX railroad and is currently in the design phase. During construction, Alger will be closed from Kalamazoo to Plymouth. Prior to construction, a postcard will be sent to area residents and information on this webpage will be updated.
