     NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND COMMENT
    ON THE FY 2018 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
     
    The City of Grand Rapids Community Development Department announces the availability of the draft FY 2018 Housing and Community Development Annual Action Plan that identifies planned activities and the allocation of resources for the program year July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018.  The Annual Action Plan describes the allocation of $6,332,593 of federal funds that consists of:
     
    Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
    $4,500,000
    HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
    1,439,205
    Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG)
    316,210
    Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)
    77,178
     
    General activities proposed for funding include, but are not limited to, housing rehabilitation and minor home repair, homeowner and renter housing assistance, code enforcement, crime prevention, neighborhood leadership and civic engagement, and fair housing.
     
    The Annual Action Plan will be available for public review and comment from March 8, 2017 through April 14, 2017.  A public hearing for citizen input will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in City Commission Chambers, City Hall, 300 Monroe Avenue, NW.
     
    Comments may be made at the public hearing or submitted in writing to the Community Development Department prior to 5:00 p.m. on April 14, 2017.  The Annual Action Plan may be viewed during normal business hours at the Community Development Department, 300 Monroe Avenue, NW, Suite 460, or on-line here.
