    Ghana Flag Ga District, Ghana welcomed the intitial Grand Rapids delegation with traditional drums and dancing to sign the sister city agreement in January, 1994. The Ga District is located along what was once called the Gold Coast in the southern part of Ghana and includes a stretch of sandy beach along the Atlantic Ocean. The predominant language is English and the native tongue is Twi. The District includes rural and uban areas adjacent to its largest City, Ghana's capital, Accra. Its economy is agriculturally based with pineapples as the principal crop. The population of the District is 176,000.
