Thank you to all the residents, community leaders and Summit presenters for spending Saturday, March 4th with us at the GRCC Applied Technology Center for the 2017 Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit!

The purpose of the Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit is to increase resident awareness, skills and networks for improved sustained change for stronger neighborhoods resulting in a stronger city.

The theme of the 2017 Summit was Organizing Our Power For Change and was kicked off by a dynamic opening keynote address, Leveraging Our Power and Story to Make Positive Change, given by Gyasi Ross, a Native-American lawyer, author, speaker, commentator, rapper/poet, filmmaker, podcaster and father.

The day was transformational for many and included several changes from previous years, such as the very popular Kids Summit for children of attendees age 2 to 12, a more accessible location, lactation room, more workshop selections and we moved the event to a Saturday to increase opportunity to attend. View this video for a fun and informative recap of the #2017GRSummit!
