    Authority City Code Chapter 42, Sec. 359
    Purpose The purpose of the Committee is to promote public health, safety and a healthy urban treescape and canopy. Requiring a permit to plant trees, shrubs or plants in any of the city streets, to authorize the removal and/or replacement of diseased trees, plants, or shrubs.  The Committee consists of nine (9) members.  The Mayor shall appoint four (4) members who shall be citizens with a demonstrated interest or expertise in trees, including one member from the membership of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and one certified arborist.  The City Manager shall appoint three (3) members, who shall be citizens with a demonstrated interest or expertise in trees.  Of those three (3) members, two (2) shall be City employees.  Consumer's Energy shall appoint one (1) representative to serve as a member on the Committee.
    Appointment
    Members are appointed on the first Monday of January.
    Residency Requirement

    None.

    Term Each member's term is for three (3) years and not subject to the Service Limitation Policy. The City Forestry Supervisor is a permanent member.
    Meetings

    The Committee meets in City Hall, 300 Monroe NW, Room 601 at 3:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
