    Grand Rapids Historical Commission

    Authority City Code Sec. 1.358 et. seq.
    Purpose The Commission has responsibility for the collection of source materials and other data for the purpose of compiling and keeping current the history of the City of Grand Rapids and such other responsbilities as may be assigned to it from time to time by the City Commission.
    Membership The Commission is composed of thirteen members who have an active involvement in the field of history or are knowledgeable of local history. One member may be the Museum Director of the City of Grand Rapids.
    Appointment Members of the Commission are appointed by the Mayor with City Commission approval on the first Monday in January.
    Term Each member's term is for three years.
    Meetings The Commission meets at the Grand Rapids Public Library 4th Floor, 111 Library N.E., on the third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 P.M. Current Annual Meeting Schedule.
    Compensation None.
