    Downtown Development Authority

    Purpose The Authority acts in the best interest of the City to help eliminate property deterioration, to increase property tax valuation where possible in the City's business district, to eliminate the causes of deterioration, and to promote economic growth.

    Membership The Authority is under the supervision and control of a Board of nine members consisting of the Mayor and eight other members. At least five of the members must have a financial interest in a downtown business or property within the district and at least one member must be a resident of the downtown district if the downtown district has 100 or more persons residing in it.
    Appointment Members are appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Commission on the first Monday of January.
    Term Each member's term is for four years.
    Meetings The Board meets in Conference Room 601 of City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.
