    Authority City Charter, Title VII
    Purpose The Board implements and adopts rules and regulations for the administration of the City's Civil Service System.  The Board consists of five (5) members.  Four (4) members must be resident taxpayers of the City and representative of the three wards.  The fifth member is a City Commissioner.  The four (4) members cannot be candidates for or hold any public office or position and cannot be an officer or employee of any political or party organization.
    Appointment The four (4) citizen members are appointed by the City Commission on the first Monday in May.  The Mayor appoints the City Commissioner member on an annual basis.
    Residency requirement

    Yes.

    Term Each citizen member serves a term of four (4) years and not subject to the Service Limitation Policy.
    Meetings The Board meets in the City Commission Chambers on the 9th Floor in City Hall at 2:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every other month.
