    Purpose
        
    This special type of corporation was established to independently acquire, furnish, own, 
         improve, enlarge, operate or maintain public buildings, parking lots, recreational facilities, 
         convention and entertainment facilities located in the City.  
         The City-County Building Authority consists of three (3) members.  
              -One is elected by the Kent County Board of Commissioners 
              -One is elected by the Grand Rapids City Commission
              -One is elected by the joint action of both governing bodies.  
          Members may not be elected officials of either of these two governing bodies.
    Appointment
        
    Members are appointed on the first Monday in January by either the Kent County Board of 
         Commissioners or the Grand Rapids City Commission.

         None
    Term
         Members serve a term of four (4) years 
         Membership is not subject to the Service Limitation Policy
